Acupuncture for Wellness & Chronic Pain

Our Approach to Acupuncture for General Wellness & Quality of Life

Many factors are involved in how quickly someone responds to acupuncture treatment, such as age, length of time the pain has occurred, general health to name a few. A treatment plan specific to the individual will be a part of the initial evaluation.

Chronic Pain

Chronic Pain is life altering for many. Over the counter medications may help with pain, but long term problems such as digestive upset and kidney/liver issues can occur with long term use. Acupuncture has shown to help problems such as low back pain, joint pain, and muscular pain, often times when nothing else has helped. Acupuncture not only causes the body to release natural pain killers (without the side effects of prescription medications), but also helps the body heal the inflammation that often causes these conditions.

General Wellness

Many individuals seek acupuncture not only for alleviating specific ailments but also as a proactive measure for overall well-being. Proponents of acupuncture suggest that it can enhance the body’s natural healing abilities, reduce stress, improve sleep, and boost the immune system. As a non-invasive and drug-free therapy, acupuncture is often embraced as part of a comprehensive wellness regimen, contributing to both physical and mental harmony. While individual experiences may vary, the growing interest in acupuncture underscores its potential as a complementary approach to foster a sense of vitality and balance in one’s life.

Anxiety and Depression

Anxiety and depression can sometimes be helped with acupuncture, particularly mild to moderate depression. Acupuncture can affect parts of the brain which affect neurotransmitters, neuroendocrine system, and the HPA axis, all of which have a role in affecting our moods. In general, 10-14 treatments given bi-weekly is the treatment protocol.
