Our Approach to Acupuncture for Wellness & Quality of Life
Acupuncture for Chronic Pain
Chronic Pain is life altering for many. Over the counter medications may help with pain, but long term problems such as digestive upset and kidney/liver issues can occur with long term use. Acupuncture has shown to help problems such as low back pain, joint pain, and muscular pain, often times when nothing else has helped. Acupuncture not only causes the body to release natural pain killers (without the side effects of prescription medications), but also helps the body heal the inflammation that often causes these conditions.
It’s essential to keep in mind that persistent, long-term chronic pain often needs consistent acupuncture sessions over several weeks to aid the body’s recovery. Our intake and diagnostic process examines all physical symptoms to identify specific patterns. By targeting these patterns in our treatments, patients not only experience relief from their primary issue but also notice positive health changes in other areas of their body. Many also report better sleep and increased energy levels.
Acupuncture for General Wellness
Many individuals seek acupuncture not only for alleviating specific ailments but also as a proactive measure for overall well-being. Proponents of acupuncture suggest that it can enhance the body’s natural healing abilities, reduce stress, improve sleep, and boost the immune system. As a non-invasive and drug-free therapy, acupuncture is often embraced as part of a comprehensive wellness regimen, contributing to both physical and mental harmony.
While individual experiences may vary, the growing interest in acupuncture for wellness underscores its potential as a complementary approach to foster a sense of vitality and balance in one’s life.
Patients often ask how many treatments they will need. We conduct an intake and diagnostic process to determine an individualized treatment plan for each patient to achieve their unique goals. Working with me will also involve lifestyle coaching on actions you can take to enhance the effectiveness of your acupuncture treatments.
Acupuncture for Anxiety and Depression
Anxiety and depression can sometimes be helped with acupuncture, particularly mild to moderate depression. Acupuncture for wellness can affect parts of the brain which affect neurotransmitters, neuroendocrine system, and the HPA axis, all of which have a role in affecting our moods.
In general, 10-14 treatments given bi-weekly is the treatment protocol. Our intake and diagnostic process works to assess symptoms and identify specific patterns that will guide individualized treatment plans.
